On April 14, 2008 I was homeless, dealing with a divorce and the death of my mother – on the same day.

Soon-after, my corporate job was down-sized, I spent the next few years ‘getting my life together’.

I decided to take control of my own destiny.

Everything I learned, plus the framed certificate on my home-office wall gave me what I needed to successfully start my new Life Coach company.

My first coaching client was a local nonprofit organization leader, who’s now putting the impact of her coaching sessions to use as a celebrated new local politician advocating for social change using her business in her community.

Doesn’t what I’ve been through in my life (my story/testimony) alone qualify me to coach? 

Your life experience alone doesn’t qualify you to coach others. That usually turns into giving advice and sharing your opinion from more of a mentor or a girlfriend’s perspective (not listening and asking good questions that lead your clients to breakthroughs, like qualified, Certified Life Coaches do).

Don’t just adopt the title of “Coach” and hope for the best (even if you believe you’ve been coaching all your life).
