πŸ¦‹ Black History Month Documentary + Grants βœ¨πŸŒˆ

My documentary, Lady of L.E.G.A.C.Y, was written, edited, produced, and filmed by me last year during Black History Month — after winning a filmmaking contest that came with Fulton County Films and a $10,000 Film Coach and curriculum that taught me exactly how to ‘shoot my shot’ on screen…using just my cellphone! πŸ˜‚πŸ“±

My film has helped me earn multiple six-figures (so far!) in my Black woman-owned small business!

In the TikTok video above…

It all started in Downtown Hapeville, GA at the Historic Christ Church and Carriage House (which seats 75)

I received an invitation to a private film screening and a chance to celebrate a fellow Documentarian and Producer of the new documentary, ‘Butterfly In The Sky’, featuring Lavar Burton (centered around theΒ  journey of ‘Reading Rainbow’…and finding funding)! ✨🌈

As a fellow grant winner of over $51,700 in grants and grant-funded opportunities, I know what it’s like to have people try to TAKE MONEY out of your pockets… because it ain’t no money in theirs! πŸ‘€

This screening was a part of the 2024 Southern Circuit Spring Film Series Tour of Independent Filmmakers event hosted by a grant and the City of Hapeville πŸ“½οΈ

It featured sponsored treats like a food, wine, and music reception (which I’m sure was accomplished by utilizing the same tips and techniques to finding event sponsors through platform partnerships I teach in the #FindingFunding e-book in The Grant G.A.M.E Mentorship Program which now features the new book, ‘The Grant G.A.M.E’ (How I Won Over Six-figures in Grants…) over at www.blackwomeningrants.com) πŸ’ΈπŸ₯°πŸ’•

This was a happy series of events that involve Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty makeup line (and Sephora), TikTok, Target’s Black History Month collection, filmmaking, speaking and grants…!
